After the crit i recieved alot of feedback, alot of which being positive which i was extremally pleased with, I got advice on where to go next what to look into and how i can further develop the scheme which was very helpful and inspiring.
Here are some notes which were taken during the crit:
Contradiction Natural vs Brutalism.
Not very convincing on the site, how do they react with the existing buildings.
Ideas are good - well thought out. Brutalist in concept [megastructural].
Needs more anaylisis on how it sits on the site.
Sketches to show how its viewed in and out of the site.
How will people feel moving around the building [Light & Dark].
Investigate it more - everything is in place, use it.
Do people walk or climb on it.
Show views of other buildings - these may change the buildings appearance.
The cut back is good - it is a start.
Look at the inside - the space - how much is required.
Look at varied steps not just a big stair case.
Little less mountains.
Good presentation - little bit more effort.
The bones are there it needs fleshing out.
Look into Geology.
Re-identify Brutalism - possible dissertation title = Brutalism is Naturalism.
Layer upon Layer.
Breaking down the Monolyth.
Creation of tension - which bits are green which bits are hard stone.
Think about the routes - what happens in the centre.
Have a look at:
