To further develop the scheme i began by creating the exterior steps which allow the public to walk over the building creating a new urban space with views of the whole city. These steps also double up as seating for an external ampitheatre which relates back to the history of theatre as ampitheatres where amoung the very first types of theatres, back in ancient Greece. The pictures below are from a sketch up model which is still in progress but you can start to get a feel of what the building may be like. I've also added in materiality so it is better communicated. The entire roof will be grass - going back to this idea of a mountain is built up of natural land. and the rise of each step will be made out of glass so as you approach the building you can see into the building and see what activities are going on, sparking an interest which will draw the user in to the building, while also creating a dynamic space withing the building as views of people walking over the building are made along with then constantly casting moving shadows within the space.

Above: A view of the 'ampitheatre' space and how a member of the public would view the space.
Above: A 3d view just showing the stepped exterior which gives this building a more organic form as it appears to be 'growing' out of the soil of the site, tying nature back into the city.
Above: An interior shot, showing the space created due to these exterior steps. a nice sense of space.
